NB ERGONOMIC FP-2 Laptop Tray
The NB ERGONOMIC FP-2 is an adjustable laptop tray designed to turn a compatible VESA monitor arm into a laptop mounting solution. It supports laptops from 13 to 17 inches and attaches to standard 75×75mm and 100×100mm VESA mounting patterns.
By lifting your laptop off the desk, the tray helps create a cleaner workstation and lets you position the laptop alongside an external monitor. It is especially useful for workstations, gaming setups, home offices, and dual-screen configurations.
Adjustable Laptop Support for 13–17 Inch Devices
The tray uses sliding side clamps that adjust from 297mm to 420mm in width. This allows it to accommodate a range of laptops, from compact 13-inch models to larger 17-inch gaming laptops.
It supports laptop thicknesses from 5mm to 21mm, making it suitable for many MacBooks, ultrabooks, productivity laptops, and slim gaming machines.
Compatible with Standard VESA Monitor Arms
The FP-2 uses standard 75×75mm and 100×100mm VESA mounting patterns. This means it can be paired with a compatible monitor arm rather than requiring a dedicated laptop arm.
Whether you already have a single or dual monitor arm, you can use the tray as long as the arm’s VESA plate and weight capacity meet the required specifications.
The tray is sold separately, so you can keep your existing monitor arm and add laptop mounting functionality to your setup.
Ventilated Steel Design
The laptop platform is made from SPCC cold-rolled steel and features ventilation slots across the surface. The open design allows airflow underneath the laptop instead of completely blocking its bottom surface.
This can be particularly useful for laptops with bottom air-intake vents, including many performance and gaming models.
Secure Laptop Holding System
The tray combines multiple contact points to help keep the laptop securely positioned during normal monitor-arm adjustments.
Bottom hooks support the laptop from underneath, while adjustable side clamps hold the device in place. The upper support also helps prevent the laptop from sliding when the arm is tilted or repositioned.
Padded contact areas provide additional protection between the mounting hardware and the laptop.
Free Up Desk Space and Raise Your Laptop
Mounting your laptop to an adjustable arm removes it from the desktop and gives you more usable workspace underneath.
Positioning the laptop closer to eye level can also make a dual-screen setup more comfortable. For an ergonomic workstation, you can pair the tray with an external keyboard and mouse while keeping the laptop screen beside your main monitor.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the NB ERGONOMIC FP-2 include a monitor arm?
No. The FP-2 is the laptop tray only. You need a compatible VESA monitor arm to mount it.
Is it compatible with other monitor arm brands?
Yes. It can be used with compatible monitor arms that support 75×75mm or 100×100mm VESA mounting patterns, provided the arm can handle the combined weight of the tray and laptop.
What laptop sizes does it support?
The tray is designed for 13–17 inch laptops. Its adjustable width ranges from 297mm to 420mm, while supported laptop thickness is 5–21mm.
How much weight can the laptop tray hold?
The tray weighs 1.15 kg. The practical maximum load depends on the monitor arm being used, so you should add the tray and laptop weights together and compare the total with your arm’s rated capacity.
Will the ventilated design help with laptop airflow?
The platform has ventilation slots that leave portions of the laptop’s underside open. This allows airflow around the bottom of the device, although actual cooling performance depends on the laptop’s own cooling system and vent placement.
Can I use the tray with a tablet?
It may work with larger tablets that meet the tray’s minimum width and thickness requirements. Smaller tablets may not be securely held by the adjustable clamps, so compatibility should be checked based on the device’s physical dimensions.

Mounting your monitor removes its original stand from the desk surface, leaving more room for your keyboard, mouse, speakers and other accessories.
Adjust Your Monitor Position
Depending on the model, you can adjust the monitor's height, tilt, swivel and rotation.
Use Portrait or Landscape Orientation
Selected North Bayou monitor arms allow compatible displays to rotate between portrait and landscape orientations. This can be useful for coding, reading, document work and browsing.

Monitor arms can be useful for gaming desks where screen positioning and available desk space are important.
A single monitor arm can provide more room around the keyboard and mouse, while dual-monitor mounts can support gaming and streaming setups with multiple displays.
For larger gaming monitors, choose an arm according to the monitor's actual size and weight. The A5 supports up to 18kg, while the Handle F5G supports up to 20kg.
North Bayou for Work and Productivity

A monitor arm allows users to position the display according to their preferred working setup. Dual-monitor mounts can also be useful for workflows involving multiple applications, documents or browser windows.
The F160-FP is particularly suitable for laptop users who want to add an external monitor without keeping both devices flat on the desk.

Examples include:
- A5: 27–50 inches

- F160-FP: up to 9kg per arm
3. VESA Pattern
Check your monitor's VESA mounting holes before purchasing. Several North Bayou models support standard 75×75mm and 100×100mm VESA patterns.

Decide whether you need to mount:
- One monitor
